Clarksburg School Committee Meeting - May 1st, 2025

Meeting held in the school cafeteria/gymnasium. Please park and enter through the back entrance of the building.

Agenda

1. Call to order the monthly meeting of the Clarksburg School Committee
2. Public Comment/Open Meeting Rules: Clarification of the official legal rules of participation in an open meeting.
3. School Building Update:
   1. Discuss any updates on the roof repair project and the impact on the summer program.
4. Approval of Minutes: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the minutes from the Clarksburg School Committee Meetings dated April 3 and 10, 2025.
5. Financial Statement: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the current financial statement for FY25.
6. Financial Report:
   1. Discuss the April 29 joint meeting with the Finance Committee to review the budget.
   2. School Choice: Review classroom numbers and vote to approve any new school choice slots for the 2025-2026 school year.
   3. FY26 budget draft review and vote to approve
7. Principal’s Report: An update on school related events/activities, student learning, and staffing.

      1. Contract Negotiations: Discuss the agreement with the Clarksburg Teachers Association for a new three-year contract.
      2. School Calendar: Discuss options for the 2025-2026 school calendar.

      1. Residency Policy: Ongoing discussion about the current residency policy for enrollment at the school and the challenges caused by the high demand with many families seeking to enroll their children at Clarksburg School (with questions surrounding their town of residence, and the school’s ability to verify).  Review any relevant documentation from local districts.
   4. Executive Session- Per Chapter 30A, Section 21 MGL: Negotiation of the Teachers Contract
