4. Election of Officers:  Election of NBSU Joint Committee Officers for FY24
5. Minutes: Approval of the December 18, 2023 NBSU Joint Committee meeting minutes
6. Contact List: Review the current Joint Committee contact list (to make any edits)
7. Chronic Absenteeism: The NBSU principals will share successful strategies utilized at their schools to make a positive difference in this key area, which is still a primary objective of the DESE Interim Commissioner of Education.
8. MCAS: Brief review and discussion about the recent statewide vote to eliminate MCAS as a graduation requirement for high schools.  The Superintendent will provide an update on any changes or adjustments at the elementary/junior high school level.
9. Director of Technology Report: Josh Arico will review updates to technology in the NBSU school buildings this year, including his ongoing work with the Assistant Superintendent and the special education department to update the Power School student information system.
10. Assistant Superintendent Report: Tara Barnes will provide an update for any pertinent items in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and special education in the NBSU districts.
11. NSBU Joint Agreement:  Update the FY26 expense percentages for each NBSU school district based on the October 1 student population data submitted to DESE
12. Business Administrator’s Report: Lisa Blackmer will review the FY24 End of the Year Report status for each school district/town, as well as any other pertinent financial items related to the FY25 budget, and planning for the FY26 budget
13. Salary Scale/Contract/Evaluation Updates: The committee will review, discuss, and vote (if necessary) on the following items:  a proposed salary scale for the NBSU Office Administrative Assistant Positions, negotiations for the Director of Information Technology and Assistant Superintendent Contracts, and evaluation updates for the NBSU Administration positions.
14. New Joint Committee Business: Any other items for discussion and review by the committee members not reasonably anticipated prior to the posting of this meeting.
