North Berkshire Educational Sustainability Study: Presentation by Jake Eberwein and Brendan Sheran from BERK 12 to inform and update the committee on the progress of Phase I of the study, the plan of action and next steps as part of the information gathering work involving multiple towns and school districts in North Berkshire County. 
  1. Minutes: Approval of the April 9, 2026, NBSU Joint Committee meeting minutes 
  1. Election of Officers: Nominate and vote to approve officers for the 2026-2027 school year
  1. NBSU Joint Committee Contact List: Review the updated joint committee contact information to make any necessary edits before finalizing the document for internal use. 
  1. Superintendent Franzoni Communication:
    1. Succession Plan Update: Review and discuss the ongoing plan for approving a new superintendent with a start date of July 1, 2027
    2. Vote/Negotiations: Vote on a hiring recommendation and plan to enter into negotiations
    3. Meeting/Hiring Schedule for the 2026-2027 school year: Discuss and approve a tentative timeline for posting, interviewing, and hiring a new Director of Pupil Services with a start date of July 1, 2027
  1. NBSU Agreement Review and Discussion:
    1. Subcommittee Meetings: The NBSU Subcommittee members representing each of the five districts, along with the NBSU district leadership, will review the two fall meetings to review the discussion and planning for an updated union agreement, including planning around the shared payroll and expenses breakdown of percentages.
    2. Legal Opinion: Communication from Attorney Dupere in reference to his recommendations.
    3. Discussion/Planning: Review and discussion by committee members to consider next steps for further consideration in order to finalize and approve an updated agreement. 
  1. New Joint Committee Business: Any other items for discussion and review by the committee members not reasonably anticipated prior to the posting of this meeting.
